Chelsea 52-43 win over Jackson
Jackson gets off to strong start
The Vikings (8-4, 4-4) gave the Bulldogs a scare earlier, grabbing a 13-9 lead.
"I loved how we started," Jackson coach Elliot Munz said. "We came out with great intensity, and the girls played very well at the start."
Chelsea, ranked No. 5 in Division 2 in the latest Associated Press poll, rallied to take a 23-20 lead into halftime before going on a shooting tear in the third quarter, extending its advantage to 44-28.
"In the first half, give Jackson credit," Blomquist said. "They hit some shots. At the same token, we weren't clicking very good offensively. I hate to say this, but we are traditionally a second-half team.
"We make adjustments, like in the third quarter, and I thought we played as well as we could have played."
Another big game for Jada Moorehead
The Vikings' senior forward scored a combined 38 points in the team's two wins last week. She had another strong performance Tuesday, finishing with a team-high 18 points.
"She is a scoring and rebounding machine," Munz said. "She's learning every day, getting better every day. She comes to practice and games with a great attitude."
