The Jackson Vikings started their 2018 Season with a 27-20 victory over Ypsilanti to win its first SEC-White conference game.
Jackson took an early 6-0 lead before giving up 14 unanswered points. They then went up 21-14 before Ypsilanti pulled within one at 21-20.
Jackson got another touchdown in the fourth but missed the extra point to make it 27-20 when Ypsilanti was down to its last chance.
The Grizzlies had the ball at the Vikings five yard line when they fumbled in the final minute of the game and Jackson pounced on it to seal the victory.
Micah Cretsinger scored the game's first and last touchdown, while Exziar Edwards did most of the heavy lifting for Jackson. He finished connecting on 2-of-2 passes for 17 yards and one touchdown while rushing 25 times for 116 yards and another score.
Dakota Robertson added seven carries for 95 yards to help Jackson get to 1-0 on the year.
